Current Political News: After three days of absolute political uncertainty and amidst emerging accusations of voting fraud breaking out of the White House, the last remaining ballots for the 2020 US Presidential Election are being counted in Pennsylvania and Georgia, pointing to a possible victory for former Vice President Joe Biden. Nevertheless, the Democratic Party’s majority in the House is quickly vanishing, as seats previously predicted to fall into Blue hands remained strongly in Republican control, while others flipped to their GOP adversaries.
On Thursday, California representative Nancy Pelosi made her renewed bid to keep her post as House Speaker by addressing the members of the House with a letter detailing her agenda for the next two years. This comes as Pelosi’s own Caucus support has diminished after Tuesday’s General Election, mostly blamed on her party’s shift to more radical Far-Left policies, largely rejected by a large chunk of her party’s voters.

Current Political News: Pelosi’s Days as House Speaker May be Counted!
In Thursday’s letter, Pelosi expressed her interest to take back on the Speaker’s role, remarking her willingness to work closely with “President-elect” Joe Biden and VP-elect Kamala Harris: “Our vision for the next two years must be built on the success of the Democratic House Majority in the 116th Congress, and to harness the extraordinary visions, values and vibrancy of our Caucus to secure the progress that the American people deserve,” she added “In that spirit, I am writing to request your support to be re-elected as Speaker. I do so with the utmost respect for the diverse viewpoints in our Democratic Caucus…”
Even though the Democrats had been counting on keeping the majority by means of substantial House gains after Election day, the reality is Pelosi’s party has had to part ways with seats it had previously regarded as “safe” possessions. This has prompted accusations from both sides of the House that the Democratic party has -perhaps- too closely linked itself with problematic extreme left-leaning policies, thus hurting their appeal in their moderate-voter base. As of Friday morning, seven Democrats have lost their bids for re-election, while not a single Republican incumbent has been yet forced out.
The latest House breakdown shows 208 wins for the Democrats and 193 for the Republicans, with 34 seats still up for grabs. GOP pundits believe most of the remaining races will land in Trump land in a short time.
