Top Political News: The ripple effects of the past US Presidential Election are still being felt in all corners of America’s political life, and although pundits were first quick to point out divisions within the different forces that conform the Democratic party, there also appear to be a wide rift growing between Trump supporters and other so-called factions of the GOP establishment, with even traditionally conservative Fox News network now appearing at odds with the incumbent US President.
The most recent press conference held Thursday by Trump’s legal team, spearheaded by former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani and lawyers Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis, originally intended by PUTUS’ legal advisors to provide strong and incontestable proof of widespread election fraud resulted in a heated row of arguments, name-calling and very little actual evidence of election wrongdoings.

Where is the Proof?
The unceasing claims by Trump and his legal team of a “stolen” election fell somewhat flat on Thursday when Giuliani, Powell and Jenna Ellis addressed a group of journalists to “clarify” the nature of the lawsuits and legal maneuvering now in place to try and stop the certification of the 2020 Presidential Election results.
The presented allegations included the already-divulged irregularities in the performance of vote-counting observation in Detroit and Philadelphia, plus alleged voting machine tampering by the Dominion Voting Systems company, which, according to Powell, has strong ties to Venezuela’s socialist government. According to Fox News’ correspondent Kristin Fisher, Giuliani’s high-pitched accusations of fraud were “baseless, light on facts” or “simply not true.”
“That was certainly a colourful news conference from Rudy Giuliani, but it was light on facts,” said Fisher during a Fox News broadcast. “So much of what he said was simply not true or has already been thrown out in the court.”
Giuliani, in his characteristically dramatic style -while heavily sweating in front of the cameras- showed himself none-the-worse by the relentless press hounding during the press conference. “What I am describing to you is a massive fraud,” he said: “What emerged very quickly is there is not a single vector fraud in one state… This pattern repeats itself in a number of states, almost exactly the same pattern which to any experienced investigator, prosecutor, would suggest that there was a plan from a centralized place to execute these various acts of voter fraud, specifically focused on big cities. And, as you can imagine, big cities controlled by Democrats.”
Responding to Giuliani’s bombastic claims, Fisher responded that “He (Giuliani) called it a nationwide conspiracy, and yet, he failed to provide any hard evidence to back up that specific claim, especially when you’re dealing with a claim that cuts to the core of our Democratic process.”
Meanwhile, and during the last few hours, a new row has arisen between attorney Sidney Powell and Fox News’ uber-popular host Tucker Carlson, as the latter had apparently requested hard proof of the allegations from Trump’s legal team, which he then claims he did not receive. Powell refuted Carlson’s statement and has apparently now cut communication ties with the TV pundit.
